Ask your MP to become Fibromyalgia Ambassador

Join our campaign - write to your MP and ask to become Fibromyalgia Ambassador!

We have written to all MPs and all Members of the House of Lords to ask them to become Fibromyalgia Ambassadors. We have already received a few positive responsaes - now we need your help to get more MPs on board!

We have joined forces with UK Fibromyalgia (publishers of the Fibromyalgia Magazine) to spread the message to all our supporters to join our campaign and to write to their MPs. Please ask your MP to lobby for their support for the fibromyalgia cause. Tell them about your personal situation and how widespread fibromyalgia is within the UK, and that you are looking for their help in our campaign. We want to create Fibromyalgia Ambassadors and we would appreciate it if you would ask them to sign up to become one.

If you are unsure who your MP is then the "They work for you" website will tell you who and where they are, and it allows you to contact them directly as well. Please go to: www.theyworkforyou.com However when contacting your MP, a short, handwritten or printed letter sent through the post can be very effective. Please address your letters to:

Your MP's Name, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA

Take the time to write your own letter, in your own words, and edit your letter for brevity and clarity.

If you have contacted your MP, please do tell us about it! Email Ella on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any details of your contact with your MP, tell us about your successes!

Following a good year that featured a ministerial debate on fibromyalgia in the House of Parliament in July 2015, FMA UK is contacting all MPs and all members of the House of Lords to engage them on the subject of fibromyalgia. We ask them to become Fibromyalgia Ambassadors and be more mindful of the plight of their constituents that are affected by fibromyalgia.

We are excited about this venture, as the more support at parliament the better that our cause can be advanced and improve the support for people living with fibromyalgia.

To support the process of getting MPs involved in this campaign, we have teamed up with UKFibromyalgia to encourage anyone affected by fibromyalgia to contact their MP about this venture and also about any concerns that they have that relates to their condition.

As MPs are responsible to their constituents, we hope that this engagement from the charity and their constituents will bring fibromyalgia the recognition it deserves.

Our Campaign partner, UKFibromyalgia says: ‘’UK Fibromyalgia is pleased to work alongside FMAUK to raise awareness of fibromyalgia with both houses of Parliament.

September 2016, as ever, will be the UK’s Fibromyalgia awareness raising month and in the six months we have remaining we are going to ask our many thousands of magazine subscribers and social network members to actively lobby their own M.P.s to get fibromyalgia on the agenda. Our aim is that by September we will be able to announce the names of the M.Ps and the members of the House of Lords who have agreed to become Fibromyalgia Ambassadors. We can only do this with your help so visit the above website to find out what to do next’’.
