Sophie Halle-Richard's Great Manchester 10k Run for her Mum

On Sunday the 20th of May Sophie Halle-Richards will be running the Great Manchester 10k Run for Fibromyalgia Action UK because her mum lives with fibromyalgia. Sophie told us:‘’Following several years of undiagnosed and widespread pain, my mum was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. At that time and still to this day, we know very little about the condition or its implications, making the symptoms very hard to articulate to friends and family.

Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that causes pain all over the body, and includes constant fatigue, cognitive difficulties and many other debilitating symptoms. The actual cause of fibromyalgia has not yet been found.

Currently, there is no cure for Fibromyalgia and treatment primarily aims at treating symptoms opposed to finding a long-term cure. Charities' like Fibromyalgia Action UK are paving the way to help improve the lives of sufferers by increasing awareness, and access to treatments for Fibromyalgia across the country. Any contributions will go a long way in funding future research and treatment as well as improving the lives of current sufferers. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!’’
