I decided I would do a fancy dress walk along our local canal from Skipton to Keighley, and a few friends agreed to join me. We met up on 26th June 2011 at 11.30am and I was really pleased that we had six walkers, including me, Jonathan Connor, Sharon Ward and their dog Ringo, and my god mother Shona Brunshill and her daughter Kirra.
We set off from Skipton at 11.30 am along the Leeds–Liverpool canal on a really sunny day. Shona had dressed as a clown, Kirra and Jonathan dressed up as pirates and I was a black and yellow bee. Even Ringo the dog dressed up as a clown!
It took us about 6 hours, but we did stop for a picnic halfway. We met people along the way, who sponsored us and cheered us on. We were really tired when we had finished, but it was great fun and I enjoyed doing it.
Shona and Kirra raised £80, Jonathan, Sharon and Ringo raised £660 and I raised £100 through justgiving and raised £50 in cash. So all together we raised a total of £890!
