Chris Binks finished the Ironman Triathlon in Bolton on the 2nd August against all odds completing the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and marathon to raise funds for fibromyalgia.
Having had his hip resurfaced in May 2008 he was advised not to run again but having completed 3 Half Ironmans and other triathlons decided upon this adventure.
He started to increase his training last November and, with the help of his coach Chris Morgan and the dedication of his wife Suzy without whom none of this would have been possible, finished the race well within the cut off time to raise funds for all Fibromyalgia groups across the UK.
FMA UK would like to thank Chris for his superhuman effort and his dedication to helping the fibromyalgia sufferers of the UK.
