A DATE CHANGE FOR ONE YEAR ONLY – FIBCON 2014
Traditionally the annual fibromyalgia conferences have always been held in April and we move within the month to avoid family gatherings at Easter. In 2014 it was should have been no exception and we talked about our April date for months before the 2013 conference ended. Sadly we were ‘through human error’ double booked. This was something of a nightmare as delegates had been advised of the April date as well as prospective speakers and therapists. They all knew our April dates.
But unfortunately we had to take an alternative date for the next conference, our 5th national and our birthday. We have moved to March 27th – 31st 2014.
This time it will be one day longer – we start Thursday instead of Friday, so we can introduce a day devoted to CAM complementary alternative medicines, natural practices, and therapies. At the request of delegates we are reintroducing these treatments and it seems more and more folks are looking for natural cures.
The extra day with food, accommodation and the conference will cost an additional £75 per person - for 5 days and 4 nights the total cost will be £275 sharing a double room. That is £55 a day all found. We are again offering stage payments, direct debits or post date cheques. Starting in June payments can be extended over nine months.

If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
