Abbeymill Fitness Club doing Loch Ness Festival of Running

Several members of Abbey Mill Fitness Club, based in the same building as FMA UK head office are taking part in the Loch Ness Festival of Running Sunday 27/09/15 on behalf of FMA UK.  They will be participating in the marathon, 10K and 5K races.

Gillian Smith said "My good friend, Linda Dunn is running the Loch Ness Marathon and she has chosen to run it for  Fibromyalgia Action UK.  Most people know I suffer from Fibromyalgia. It's a condition that causes chronic pain and tiredness among other things. Not a lot people know much about it so when opportunities to raise awareness come along it means so much to me.   Please please give anything you can to support this amazing woman who just a few years ago suffered in agonising pain herself. She is a true inspiration."

Taking part in the 5K are FMA UK's office administrator Hazel and volunteer Amanda.  Both have fibromyalgia and have taken on the challenge to help raise awareness.  The girls are planning on enjoying the scenery of Loch Ness while they stroll (or hobble) round the 5K course along with Stephen Brown, Abbeymill Fitness Club owner.  Hazel commented "taking on the 5K with fibromyalgia is probably the equivalent of the runners who are doing the marathon on our behalf.  This is totally outside my comfort zone, but Stephen and Fiona from the club have been so supportive and encouraging while I've been training; that they have given me the confidence I can do it.  When we cross the finishing line - we are doing it for each and every person with fibromyalgia who takes on their own challenges on a daily basis"
