Aberdeen Group to take part in Celebrate Aberdeen Parade

On Saturday 8th June Fibro group members and supporters will take to Aberdeen’s main street along with various other charities and community groups. This is the Group's most challenging awareness event of the year, but it is a great way to spread the word.
The Group has told us:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our group members, friends and family who support us in this event as we could not do it without you. We would also like to thank our sponsor Urquhart Partnership and the event organisers, Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO).
Our other big awareness event coming up is Insight Aberdeen, Aberdeen’s Volunteering Fayre, on Saturday 20th July at the Music Hall in Aberdeen. Around fifty Third Sector Organisations get together to promote the valuable work which they carry out and provide information about volunteering opportunities. In previous experience we have found this is also a great way to raise awareness as there is a variety of people passing through from sufferers to medical professionals.

If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
