FMA UK would like to wish Charlotte Shaw good luck for her Tandem Skydive, which is taking place tomorrow 26th April - weather permitting.   Charlotte told us 

The reason for me doing this skydive is to raise funds for FMA UK (a Fibromyalgia charity) because my Godmother & Big Cousin Alison has been diagnosed with this condition. (Charlotte (on left) and Alison.

There are many symptoms for Fibromyalgia and no cure, the only medication which can be offered is painkillers and antidepressants. The only way to help and control the pain is to change your routine and lifestyle which is exactly what Alison has had to do.

Alison is such an inspiration as even though this painful illness makes every day slightly unbearable, she still gets up every morning with a smile on her face and braces the world and day ahead. She has had to change her lifestyle and job because of this condition. I have massive respect and think she is a wonderful woman, mum, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, niece and cousin for everything that she goes through and how she does it with great bravery.

I hope that raising money for this charity will bring awareness to everyone in the UK and I hope that one day there will be a quicker diagnosis and treatment available to everyone who has the illness.

Now some of you may or may not know that I am petrified of heights (can't even look out the window when I'm on the 2nd floor of a building) but the bravery that I see from Alison makes me know that I can overcome any fear or obstacle that comes my way.
