Students' Male Waxing event for FM & ME

Around 20 male volunteers agreed to have their legs, chests and backs waxed by Eastleigh College beauty students, as part of a fundraiser for Fibromyalgia Association UK and ME Research UK and helped to raise over £1400 for the two charities.

Lecturer Vanessa Parker recently announced the total and presented the cheques to charity representatives. She said: “We are delighted to welcome Jayne and Sue to the college to accept the cheques. It’s great for the students to learn how their fundraising money will be used.” The money will be put towards vital research for both charities that operate purely on donations.

Jayne Wallace, group leader from FMA UK, said: “Efforts like this are essential to our activities. Thank you to the girls, and the men for putting themselves through hell in the aid of good causes.” Sue Waddle, vice chairman of ME Research UK, also thanked the college for their efforts.
