It is with regret that we received the news about the passing of Professor John Davies. Many patients who did not find sympathy or a treatment regime from their local GPs and consultants travelled the length of the UK to be diagnosed and treated by this well respected consultant.
We at FMA UK are very grateful that the family has thought of supporting us at this sad time. They can be very proud of a man that followed his beliefs so strongly and campaigned so fervently.
Professor John Davies was Medical Director of the FM Clinics in London, Bristol and Newport, Wales. He qualified as a Medical Doctor at Guys Hospital, London, where he became a Consultant Physician.
Professor Davies had many years experience treating Fibromyalgia and ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He was also a leading expert on Trigger Point and Botox Injections, which have been shown to be helpful for Myofascial Pain an additional condition patients with FM/CFS/ME may also have.
His son Lloyd Davies wished to pass on the family’s thanks to his father’s patients and colleagues that have offered their condolences.
He said all are welcome at the service, adding please circulate this information to colleagues and friends.
“We would ask for Family flowers only at the church and that donations in lieu of flowers should be sent to FMA UK charity - www.fmauk.org”
The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Monday 1st July 2012 at St. Cadocs church, Raglan, Monmouthshire, NP15 2DU. The church is in the centre of Raglan village. A private family burial will then be held at St Peters church, Bryngwn.
Refreshments at the Beaufort Hotel, opposite St Cadocs Church in Raglan following the service. Locally the Beaufort have rooms. There are plenty of hotels in Abergavenny and the surrounding area, said Professor Davies’ son.
